Lesson or Project: 3D Art Comes to Life with 3D Printing at SU Makerspace
Bishop Grimes, East Syracuse
9th Grade 3D Art Class visits SU Makerspace to 3D print designs
iPad App and website: TinkerCad

How it Works: Tinkercad is an online program that allows students to create and design objects in a 3D environment.
 Curricular Connections:
Students learned about 3D art concepts in class and then applied that to their designs on Tinkercad. They also had to learn about measurement and geometric shapes and how that translated from their design on paper to their design in the program.

The students were able to visit the SU Makerspace and get help printing their designs with 3D printers.

Teaching Standards:
Knowledge of Student Learning, Professional Growth

Learning Standards/Concepts:
Creativity, critical thinking, measurement concepts, geometry, planes and axis, engineering and design
